Data Protection Regulations for the B. Braun Apps

Dear B. Braun App User

Data protection is extremely important to us and we take it seriously. We value having a trusting co-operation with you and endeavour to fully meet you requirements in this respect; naturally this also applies to the handling of your personal data. We want to inform you about how your personal data is processed with these data protection regulations. Our data protection regulations supplement the conditions of use for the Apps for the B. Braun Group of Companies (referred to herein as “B. Braun”.).

1. General information on the processing of personal data

We collect, process and use your personal data in compliance with the data protection laws of the Federal Republic of Germany and the data protection regulations of the European Union. Your personal data will not be passed on to third parties outside of B. Braun for advertising or marketing purposes without your permission under any circumstances.

Compliance with the legal requirements and this declaration is monitored within our company by our in-house data protection representative. The administrators of the Apps are trained in how to handle personal data and are obliged to comply with the data protection regulations.

2. Type and scope of data usage

We use your personal data exclusively for the purpose of enabling you to use the voluntary services of B. Braun, to orient our range of service towards you and to enable us to provide you with targeted information and advertising offers on our products and service electronically and by mail.

3. Storing your personal data
To obtain full functionality for individual B. Braun Apps, you must enter a few personal details, which we will store and then process and use as outlined in No. 2 within B. Braun.

You will need to provide us with the following mandatory details when you register:

• Title
• First name
• Surname
• Street
• Postcode
• Place
• Company / Hospital
• Specialism(s)
• E-mail address
• User name
• Password

You can manage your details at any time within the App using the Menu Item “My Profile”.

Notes: You must never provide anyone else with your login details (User Name and Password) for security reasons. Our staff will never ask you for these details. Please treat this information as confidential and do not disclose it to any third parties. As a minimum requirement, your personal password must consist of 8 characters in upper or lower case. To ensure a higher level of password security, we recommend you also incorporate numbers and special characters in your password. The decision concerning your choice of password is part of your personal responsibility as a user of our Apps.

4. Deleting your personal data

We will only save your details as long as they are necessary and permitted according to the legal requirements or within the framework of our joint business relationship or for as long as you use our range of offered Apps. All your personal data will be deleted provided there is no longer any legal obligation for keeping records.

If you wish to have your profile deleted, please inform us of this via our address apps@aesculap.de as access to various Apps or their expanded content will also be withdrawn once your details are deleted.

5. News Update, Newsletters and regular status emails

Whenever new content is available in your Apps, you will see a status message to this effect in your App every time the App is started until you actively inform us that you no longer want to receive this notification.

If registration for expanded content is required for one of the B. Braun Apps, you explicitly agree at the time of registration (No. 2) that B. Braun may send you targeted information and advertising offers on products and services provided by B. Braun by email or mail.

You can object to the future use of your personal data this at any time by requesting the deletion of your user profile. You can also find additional details in the Usage Regulations, which you can view at any time via the (i) symbol -> Usage regulations in any app.

6. Safety precautions

We have undertaken extension steps to protect the security of your data as an App User. We employ the industry standard SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) to encrypt your data during registration and whenever you log into our Apps. Our data processing systems are protected against data loss and data misuse based on the current level of technology. After successfully logging in, the expanded content of the App remains enabled for as long as the App is started.

If the login in an App is used to enable the expanded content on one occasion, then this content will remain enabled for the App for the duration of the use of the App on a device.

7. Links

These data protection regulations apply to all B. Braun Apps. The Apps can also contain links to other Internet pages or applications. We do not assume any responsibility for how operators of external Internet pages or applications handle your data. When leaving an App on an external Internet page, we recommend you look into the data protection guidelines used by the other operators of the linked Internet pages or applications.

8. Cookies

We use Cookies or so-called “Session IDs” within the Apps on the browser side for the registration and login process as well as to properly display the voluntary services without any problems. This is exclusively intended to assist us in continuously improving our offered services and is not used for the purpose of personally identifying the use of the App.

9. Tracking

We use the analytics technology of Flurry Inc. (www.flurry.com) to track our Apps. This allows us to collect and save usage details in a pseudo-anonymous manner. We want to optimise the user-friendliness of the app with this analysis and to continually improve it for you. This data is not used to identify the visitors of this App or to compare it to other data concerning the owner of a pseudonym.
